 The
University of the Virgin Islands is aLand Grant
Institution. The St. Croix campus, with its beautiful,
modern facilities, provides students with Bachelor’s
and Associate’s degrees in Accounting, Nursing,
Business Administration, Agriculture and Education,
and Master’s degrees in Education and Accounting.
Many other degree programs are available in conjunction
with the St. Thomas campus. Presently, the University
is exploring alternatives to develop a research
park and to engage in joint partnerships with
mainland high technology firms to take advantage
of the global crossing Internet facility built
by AT&T. This facility located on the island’s
western shore is the meeting point of all Internet
connections from Europe, Africa, as well as South,
Central and North America.
